MISSION AND PURPOSE
Carmelite Saint Teresa of Avila's prayer best expresses the mission and purpose of Mount Carmel Academy's Summer Service Learning Camp.
"Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look out to the world.
Yours are the feet with which Christ is to go about doing good.
Yours are the hands with which Christ is to bless all the people now. "
It is our hope that the Summer Service Learning Camp will provide an opportunity for incoming students to be Christ's hands on earth. As a Catholic school, one of our primary goals is to encourage our students to live their faith through apostolic service to others. Service learning camp will help students understand the purpose of the Cubs in Action Service Learning program while giving them the opportunity to earn 17.5 hours of service hours.
SERVICE PARTNERS
Service learning camp students will meet on campus every day for prayer and instructions. Campers will be transported by school bus to the service learning site.
